    Magazine Cover

    Early magazine cover:
"The Town and country magazine" April, 1788.  Many times these magazines were very dedicated to the opening page to a title and table of contents.

    Poster Cover:
"Rolling Stone" January 2001. The magazine was giving a tribute to the recent death of a former Beatle George Harrison and decided to put a pure poster cover without a cover line of any kind so people remember him.

    Pictures Married to Type:
"Vogue" May 1968. By this time pictures in covers were in color, there were different fonts of different sizes and new covers. Magazine readers witnessed a revolution to these new and improved magazines. During that time woman, african americans, homosexuals, disabled, working classes became cover stories that struggled for equity.

    In the Forest of Words:
"Guitar World" August 1992. The 21st century cover lines were important to as cover art. Some covers of this period contain cover lines that are actually larger than the name size.

    My Favorite Cover

    Finalist
W, Sept. 2011: "The Fashion Issue"
(Photograph by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott)
For W's biggest fashion issue of the year, the magazine celebrated the ways women today transform themselves by showcasing actress Kristen Stewart as readers had never seen her before. Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot transformed the 21-year-old cover model from the Twilight teenager that audiences know best into the glamorous, grown-up vixen she's becoming. "Vampires are a little dangerous—and we girls like to test ourselves," Stewart says playfully on the cover, tempting readers to pick up the issue and see for themselves.

This cover was really one of the best covers of 2012. Like it says on the cover, Kristen Stewart really does open up. I liked this cover because when saw it, it did NOT even look like the Kristen Stewart that everybody knows. Honestly she looks really pretty. The way the photographer made her pose was good because it made her look different. The lighting was also good, it brought up her skin color. Also the way they dressed her was pretty.
